We woke up this morning bleary eyed, but perked up after opening some Starbucks ground coffee and incorporating some fresh tomatoes into our usual Saturday breakfast routine.
The next newly formed habit is to check our energy monitor. With energy prices in the UK skyrocketing (40% year on year) our energy supplier has provided us with a free monitor which provides real time data about electricity consumption within the apartment.
The transmitter at the meter sends over your electricity usage which is then displayed on the unit, which you can put in a suitable place - for example the kitchen or living room.
The monitor can display your usage in kilowatt-hours (kWh), tonnes of CO2 or cost if you input your electricity rate pence per hour.

So you can go round the apartment turning on and off appliances and deducing their watt consumption. So, this morning there was a small witch-hunt due to a higher than expected wattage level. Eccentric behaviour, granted, but we've learnt about the relative consumption of various appliances and its been enlightening and will hopefully drive down our bill.
Recently we purchased a Nintendo Wii for Debra's birthday. The Tennis is a load of fun, with the system is able to read your natural tennis strokes and simulate them in the game.
We then headed to the Rising Sun pub in cloth fair (our closest pub), down the road in Smithfields. This pub is adjacent to the St Barts church, and started to fill up with a wedding party in morning suits and top hats.
