We spent the entire day sorting and cleaning in preparation for our move north. Foam, cartons, old CDs, old books, miscellaneous shoes, old picture frames, ornaments, and basically the stuff you'd find at a church jumble sale or op shop were placed outside for a council pickup tomorrow. Not 5 minutes after placing this pile there did we hear the noise of a Street Scavenger loading up his car with half our stuff. This we believe is not random, but a planned and organised patrol by people on the eave of council pickup day to hunt for "goodies". We took our broom to the racoons... just joking , but it was a family of 4 - with grandmother. Truthfully we were happy to see these things being used and valued.
